As with most wools, we recommend dry cleaning, but we did try hand washing

this knit in cool water before we made it up and it shrank about 10% which gave it a bit more body and of course allowed us to continue to wash the garment going forwards. (The amount of shrinkage will depend on the amount of heat used).
